From SRV to TD ?
Get away from the blind side of life. ~SRV _________ Well, i missed you on Nov. 17th at Rainbow - had I known I would have been there with my blues harps (including own mic. & cable ... don't ask...) And there's a music story behind - here goes. So picture this .... it's Nov. 15, 2007, 3pm - I pick up a Xpress paper to check out weekend events. - I'm sitting in the lobby of the hotel in the World Exchange Plaza on Lyon at Laurier - when a new guest carrying a guitar case enters - we make eye contact and I politely acknowledged and instinctively spurt out - "pray tell ... a fellow musician ... what ...". As quickly said, Alex from Vancouver takes the guitar out. I get the harps out. We jammed in the lobby for close to 12 minutes. Two"hoity'toity" self-important women (unhappy folks...I say) complained to the security guard to tell us to stop - he did tell us reluctantly but let us end our song. We stopped. Smiled and I said we'd pray for these unhappy folks. Shrugged it off. Ok. Thanks. THEN ... Lo'behold ... I GAVE MY XPRESS PAPER with all entertainment listings to ALEX from Vancouver - as he would still be in Ottawa over the weekend with new friends he met on the Internet over the past months. I didn't pick up another copy until Nov. 19th. Quand j'ai vu que je vous avais manqué, j'ai tombé sur mon "touche-touche" fanny. And it was a jam too. "sacrament..." And the rest is history. Still cringe - hope you will plan a "jam" soon again. Lyn

Errata...
As requested by Eric.... errratum #1 --- it's not Clapter, it's Clapton (doh!) erratum #2 --- it's not "Human Heart" although fine ... it's "Miracle Worker" ... much finer ;-) NO! The artist is not Jimmy Durante ... "sheesh'' Nor is it Howard Cossell's mother or the infamous Rabbit from the Bronx (childhood hero). Billie C

Pop Quiz - #1
Ok. Who plays a mean solo (sounds like a telecaster) in these following songs: "Miracle Worker" and "Human Heart"? (hint: was produced in late 60s, so no metronomic structrured studio take, this great artist past away before hitting age of 30 *5 seconds of silence please* .... ok.. and both songs are the same album. I have vinyl LP :-D in close-to mint condition - ok now that i'm done bragging... :-D. Both songs are similar - a slight chord variation differentiates them. (similar to songs Worried Life Blues and Keys to the highway - especially arrangements found on the Clapter and the King album ... i'm digressing ... "porca la miseria" Tony, I clearly envision you playing "Human Heart". You can bring it on home my friend. See you on the 10th (my baby-girl daugther is coming back from Khaboul the next day, the 11th ...) - I miss. But I know that La Madonna is protecting her. Merci Marie. CIAO ~Lyn
